CDMX Semana del Arte/Mexico City Art Week 2023

Comuna is thrilled to be returning to Mexico City Art Week with our friends in the local art and creative community to offer a very special and curated parallel experience of the intimate spaces and events underneath the surface of Art Week – with mindful and intimate daily excursions immersing a small group into personal processes, expansive conversations, and grounding experiences, in collaboration with our creative community in Mexico City.

Comuna Immersive Art Week Itinerary

The intention of this collaboratively curated itinerary is to facilitate cross-pollination between creative minds and communities–by opening up spaces of more intimate connection with the local creative community while offering grounding moments to process, share, and integrate the energetic experiences of Mexico City Art Week.

He often consults various organizations, storytellers, and teams about Mayan culture and symbolism. His personal art practice takes pride in cross-stitching and weaving authentic garments with new textiles and materials such as Tyvek and Kraft tech paper, and exploring the origin use of various natural pigments through a Mayan cosmovision of color theory.

Experience: Showcase of Chakceel’s current personal projects and art processes with an intimate conversation on the history and influence of indigenous Mayan voices in the contemporary art world.
